Manual

The development of the manual will be realised in a three-step work-programme:

Step I:   Needs assessment

Step II:  Development of a prototype

Step III: Evaluation

Needs assessment

A needs assessment will have to be carried out in order to assess the user's needs (conditions/requirements necessary to allow the user to fulfil his/her task efficiently) in the different countries as well as in the different scopes (health/youth). It will be necessary to match the different needs assessments of the different countries and bring it to one.

Development of a prototype

The envisioned end-product will be a manual in form of a 'multiple tool box' for multipliers working in the field of education, vocational training and awareness sessions.

Central thematic issues of the manual could be: promotion, information, education, training in the field of non-discrimination (with focus on diversity) within and by public administrations (with priority in the field of health and education).

The goals of the manual were suggested to be

1) the task of professionalising trainers in the area of diversity awareness and to
offer them methods for training session
2) the improvement/enhancement of diversity awareness in the group of youths
   and young adults (approx. 12-27)

The modular system of the manual could consist of

1) a set of quality standards for non-discrimination trainings/education
   (e.g. guidelines)
2) methods for different settings
(beginning with psycho-social counselling or schools)
3) controlling of the methodological work.

Each module should consist of a

1) general, theoretical part, e.g.
- introduction to the topic
- central questions/queries
- goals

2) practical application-oriented part, e.g.
- methods
- check-lists
- working sheets

Evaluation

The evaluation will represent a formative, process-oriented evaluation of the co-operation work during phase II of the TRIANGLE project. It will also provide a summarising research concerning the implementation, practicability and effectiveness of the modular system, regarding the effectiveness of the product and scope for improvements.
